Financial Assistance for Summer Camp at St. Nicholas Ranch

Grant from Leadership 100 Supports Youth Camp Programs

Through the generosity of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is pleased to offer financial assistance to youth who are interested in attending summer camp at Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center. A grant was made available to each Metropolis in our Archdiocese specifically to sponsor a limited number of young people who want to participate in camping programs but do not have the financial means to attend.

“We are grateful to His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the Executive and Grant Committees of Leadership 100 for their commitment to the youth of our church and supporting their participation in summer camps throughout the Archdiocese. The Christian fellowship, nurturing environment, and wide array of activities offered at Summer Camp are vital to the ongoing spiritual and emotional development of our young people,” stated His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos.

During the summer of 2011, Saint Nicholas Ranch will offer three one-week sessions of camp for youth ages 8 - 17 (Session I: July 10 – 16; Session II: July 17 – 23; Session III: July 24 – 30), with one additional week exclusively for high school students, grades 9 - 12 (Session IV: July 31 – August 6). Applications for Summer Camp at Saint Nicholas Ranch can be found online at: www.stnicholasranch.org.

To apply for financial assistance for summer camp, please submit the following information no later than July 6, 2011: summer camp application (specify desired week for camp attendance), letter from parent stating financial need, and recommendation from parish priest. Submissions will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
