2011 Greek Orthodox Volleyball Tournament in San Jose

November 4 – 6, 2011

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco invites your participation and support of the 7th Annual Saint Nicholas Volleyball Tournament in San Jose, California from November 4 – 6, 2011. Teams include the ages of Jr. GOYA (11 – 13 years old); GOYA (14 – 18 years old); Young Adults (18 – 35); and Adults (35 and older). Registrations are still being accepted for teams from Greek Orthodox parishes so if you haven’t already signed up, turn in your forms today!

The tournament will begin on Friday, November 4 with Registration and Dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by the first round of games at 7:00 p.m. All the events on Friday will be held at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in San Jose (986 Chapman Street, San Jose, CA). On Saturday, November 5 the tournament will be held at San Jose City College (2100 Moorpark Avenue, San Jose, CA) with games from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., followed by a Dinner Dance from 7:00 p.m. until midnight at the Saint Nicholas Church Fellowship Hall. Divine Liturgy will be held at Saint Nicholas Church on Sunday, November 6 at 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., with the championship games being played at Saint Nicholas beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to attend the tournament and admission is free. Meals will be available for purchase. It is anticipated that there will be over 300 participants in the tournament so be sure to cheer on your favorite teams to victory. This event is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship amongst Greek Orthodox youth and young adults, and encourages sportsmanship, Christian fellowship and physical fitness.
